Contributions in support of the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy through the selection of a commemorative plaque opportunity will be memorialized through visible and sustainable recognition for the item selected. You will receive formal and sustaining recognition for your commemorative plaque contribution. You may choose to have the plaque engraved with your name, your corporation’s name, in honor of a pharmacy pioneer, mentor friend, or loved one, or as a memorial to a pharmacy pioneer, mentor, friend, or loved one.

All contributors who choose to support the Building Tennessee’s Pharmacy Future campaign through one of the commemorative plaque recognition opportunities below will also be recognized as a Primary Contributor at the Pharmacy Legend level.

Honorary Wall of TPA Presidents

TPA would not be where it is today without each one of the outstanding leaders who have served during the association’s nearly 140 years of existence. Our Presidents have diligently and dutifully served through the highs and lows in pharmacy, and their leadership has been instrumental as we continue to serve members and strive to meet the mission of the association. Through your contribution establishing the Honorary Wall of TPA Presidents, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor TPA’s long history of leadership by recognizing each of our TPA Presidents.

Bowl of Hygeia Recipient Recognition

Established in 1958, the Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities. This pharmacy award is presented annually by participating state pharmacy associations, including those in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In addition to service through their local, state, and national pharmacy associations, award recipients devote their time, talent, and resources to a wide variety of causes and community service. Through your contribution establishing the Bowl of Hygeia Recipient Wall, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor each Bowl of Hygeia recipient.

Tom C. Sharp Pharmacist of the Year Recognition Plaque

Established in 1958 in honor of Tom C. Sharp, Sr. and Tom C. Sharp, Jr., each of whom served as Chief Executive Officer for the Tennessee Pharmacists Association for a combined 60 years, the Pharmacist of the Year Award provides recognition to a member of the association who has distinguished the profession. In 1965, following the death of Tom C. Sharp, Sr., who had served as the Association’s Executive Director for 30 years, the award was presented in his honor and has since borne his name. In 2001, the Award was re-named to honor the service of Tom C. Sharp, Jr., as well as that of his father. Through your contribution establishing the Tom C. Sharp Pharmacist of the Year Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor the recipients of the Pharmacist of the Year award.

Shelby A. Rhinehart Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award Recognition Plaque

Established in 2002 in honor of pharmacist and state Representative Shelby A. Rhinehart, who served 36 years in the Tennessee General Assembly, the Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award recognize individuals supportive of the pharmacy profession through legislative and service efforts. Through your contribution establishing the Shelby A. Rhinehart Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor each Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

Barbara McAndrew Herald Award Recognition Plaque

Established in 2006 in honor of Barbara McAndrew, who served as a strong advocate for patients and pharmacy as a consumer member on the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, the Herald Award recognizes an individual who has actively promoted the profession of pharmacy and the ideals of pharmaceutical care to the public, to the business community, to government, and to other health care providers. Through your contribution establishing the Barbara McAndrew Herald Award Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor each Herald Award recipient.

Herman Lubin Sales Representative Award Recognition Plaque

Established in 1975 in honor of Herman Lubin, who was a Memphis pharmacist and the 1973 TPA President. The Sales Representative of the Year Award recognizes an individual within the pharmacy community who has provided outstanding service to pharmacists and the profession of pharmacy. Through your contribution establishing the Herman Lubin Sales Representative of the Year Award Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor each Sales Representative of the Year Award recipient.

TPA Staff Offices

The work the staff does in support of TPA members is vital to the current and future success of the association, and the staff are often the first faces you see at meetings and the first voices you hear when you call. Roadside Signage
